Become a Volunteer
Our CASA volunteers are able to accomplish the important tasks of advocating because they are professionally trained by CASA staff. The two-part training includes courtroom training and face-to-face instruction.
Pre-Service Training
Pre-Service training is designed to provide volunteers with a foundation of information about the foster care system, help volunteers understand the impact of child abuse and neglect in the life of a child, and prepare them to carry out the roles and responsibilities of a Court Appointed Special Advocate. Training consists of five weeks’ worth of free classes and is held four times a year. If you are interested in attending training, we would need you to complete the application and return it to the CASA office at your earliest convenience.
Court Observations
Volunteers will also be required to attend Court Observation which can be arranged with the program staff.
